A Proud History

Pedersen Power Products (PPP) was founded as the dream of one man - Ezra Albert (Pete) Pedersen, an electrical engineer, who arrived in the Omaha area during the 1930's. As a part owner of Schneider Electric, Pete was responsible for putting together crews to do distribution linework for small utilities that couldn't afford full-time linesmen. As the fabrication of panels and open switchgear assemblies became a more significant part of the business, Pete separated this part of the business to form E. A. Pedersen Company in 1948.

During the next 20 years, E. A. Pedersen Company became an industry leader in the installation of large diesel engine units to provide electricity for small mid-western cities. Along with the construction and field repair, the company continued to build switchgear and control panels as needed for the construction projects. As the manufacturing division continued to grow, Pedersen Power Products was introduced in 1977. The identification of this separate manufacturing division was promoted through the development and use of the distinctive PPP logo.

The 1980's were years of dramatic growth. PPP progressed from a very modest regional supplier to a medium-sized, nationally recognized and respected manufacturer. Equipment up to 38kV was added to the product line, and facilities were expanded twice. Two more expansions were completed during the 1990's— bringing total manufacturing and office space to more than 100,000 square feet.

A Bright Future

Pedersen Power Products' history of high quality products and services has positioned the company for continued growth now --- and into the new millennium.
